Hello from Almanac Folk!

First of all, Almanac Folk would just like to say a big big thank you for supporting our events this year, and your support for all the fantastic artists in the blooming Liverpool folk scene.

Its been an incredible year, and to finish on such a high at the Palm House for the Twilight Garden Party was the cherry on the cake.  The musicians that have played with us and inspired us since our first gig way back in March are too numerous to name (I could try!  Hannah Peel, Alan Wright, Dave Owen, John Smith, Martin Heslop, Andy Hickie, Jesus Peneranda, Greg Hall, Vidar Norheim, Nula Mathers, Temple Fire, Nina Jones, Atlantic Massey, and I'm sure I've forgotten far too many!) but I would like to thank the Random Family in particular, for lighting up the city with the Liverpool Folk and Roots Festival.  Here's to 2010!

And none of this would happen without the amazing audiences that have brought these gigs to life.  We'd love to hear from you about what you like to see happening in the city (and beyond?!) next year, the folk artists you love, and what you particularly enjoyed in 2009.  For those of you that came to the Palm House in November for the Twilight Garden Party, we'd particularly love to have your feedback on the night over the next couple of days, as the event was kindly and generously supported by Arts Council England and we're reviewing the event for them now.  We'd love to be able to secure similar support from them in the future, so your comments could be invaluable!

We're busy making plans for the Spring, and we'll let you know what's coming up, but for now, very Merry Christmas wishes from Lindsay and Lizzie,

Almanac Folk
