Little Longborough
Dance Club

Little Longborough is moving again!
We were disappointed by the reality of our new venue last Wednesday. The bare walls made for a very echoey and unmanageable sound and the harsh lighting did not help. Eccleston Church has apologised but we do not think we can continue there.

We are trying our best to keep the club going so we have booked St. Teresa’s Hall, Upholland, WN8 0PY for the dates below.

We realise that this is quite a distance for some of you. We do hope it will be a stop-gap and we are looking at a hall much closer in Knowsley Road, St Helens which could well become available in the new year.

Unfortunately we are unable to go ahead with our second scheduled dance in September so our next LLDC evening will be Wednesday 4th October with Norman Bearon calling in St. Teresa’s Hall, Upholland from 8:00pm. There will be a bar serving a wide range of drinks. We hope to see you there and apologies again for all the upheaval.

Forthcoming dates:

October 4th and 25th in Upholland
November 8th and 22nd in Upholland
December 6th in Upholland

We think our club is a little bit different to others as we dance to live music which creates a wonderful atmosphere and this along with the great choice of dances keeps our membership very buoyant!

We use three main sources for our material – Playford, American contras and contemporary folk dances.  We meet generally every other Wednesday and the dates are on the website and attached to our regular emails which you can sign up to by clicking here to join our mailing list. You will be made most welcome.

All the dances will be walked through by an experienced caller. Do come along. No dancing experience or partner is required since lots of people will help out and the aim of our club is to make traditional music and dance lots of fun. For your own comfort and to avoid damaging the floor, flat or low-heeled shoes are recommended. Musicians are also welcome (contact Frank for details
