Bebington Folk Dance Club

We meet 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesdays, from 8pm to 10-15.pm. except for a break in the summer. The Dances we do are traditional-style social dances that you would find at a Barn Dance or Ceilidh. Our group caters for all levels of dancers, expert and novice. Each dance is "called through", so why not call in on one of the groups meetings at 8.00 pm., and have a go? Or ring 0151 652 4479 or 0151 339 8854 or 0151 342 8249 for more details.

We dance to both recorded and live music - the evenings are actually half and half. usually mixing the two forms during each evening.

We welcome all to join us whether you are experienced dancers or complete beginners. All dances are "walked through" to ensure people are familiar with the moves, and then they are "called" during the dance. The objective is to enjoy the music and dance and have some fun in a social gathering.

There is no joining fee nor annual subscription but just a small charge of £2.00 each evening you attend, and this includes light refreshments. There is no bar.

This folk dance club organises Saturday night dances once or twice a year, with a live band and caller.

To contact us, phone Mary Smith our Secretary, 0151 652 4479 or email jps62@tiscali.co.uk

VENUE

The Victoria Hall, Victoria Hall Walk (off Village Rd) Bebington, Wirral. CH63 8PT

This is behind the well-known (and re-furbished) "Acorn" pub where King's Road changes to Teehey Lane. The locals will all know exactly where you mean if you ask for "The Acorn."
[From the Birkenhead Tunnel, bear right over the flyover, straight only Borough Road. Do Not bear right into Singleton Avenue, but bear left, still in Borough Road, to pass the Football Stadium of Tranmere F.C. After the roundabout at Kings Lane and Broadway, Town Lane is the next turning on your left, and at that point, turn right into Village Rd., and first right into Acorn Close (but not into the Acorn pub car park) and the Hall is on the left.]
